I absolutely love to travel and absorb the experience of a new destination.
It is such a pleasure to meet individuals that have different points of view. I feel
enriched and connected as each day passes. A part of me stays behind as I return home.
This time my husband came along with me and the first thing he said when coming out of the airport was, " I feel like I'm in an oven!" It did feel suffocating and it was night time when we arrived. Luckily we got there two days before the seminar began, so we took the next two days to unwind and enjoy Scottsdale.
One thing I did notice in Scottsdale is the demand for healthy living. Organic food was everywhere. There were many great markets to visit and everyone I spoke with expressed their love for taking care of what they eat. You could hike the trails or have a nice paved road to ride bike, horse back ride or play golf. I blended right in!
If you love to shop, then you must keep note to come over here. They have indoor and outdoor malls that appeal to the masses. High end boutiques and antique stores as well. I can still remember the eco of my chidren shouting, "I want this, I want that!"
Coming from Miami, I was awed at the western architecture and the influence of Indigenous art and culture. I loved the view of the mountains and bright skies. The native plants you come across have unique shapes and sizes.
So in all we really enjoyed the off days and look forward in coming back.
I get very excited to attend the Gymnastic Bodies seminar with Coach Sommer. You come out with an unbelievable amount of knowledge and the training is extremely intense, yet fun that the day goes by flying. You get acquainted with a great group of people who also share their knowledge and aspirations.
I've met yogis, special task force soldiers, ex marines, fitness enthusiasts, capoeira and floreio instructors and martial artists. I also had the pleasure of being trained by another great coach who is friends with Coach Sommer. Coach Rob! Thanks for all the tips and for believing in me.
Our training started around 8:30am and was supposed to end by 5:00pm but we just kept talking or training so it extended to the evening. I also went ahead and did a dance cardio clinic for his beautiful wife and friends, that turned out to be quite fun. They did so well!
The downside of my trip was that I hurt my ankle at the end of the seminar, so I wasn't able to do much for a couple of days. I was very upset. I have too much energy to stay put. Thankfully it was not that bad so I got back to training and teaching in about a week. Thanks to Coach and all the guys that gave me advice on healing and for their support.
Enjoy some of the images and hope to see you in one of my classes soon!
