Carmen Amara Bio

A native of Cartagena/ Colombia, Carmen immigrated to the United States at the age of two. Although she was raised and educated in the US, she has maintained strong ties to her ethnic roots. Her strong interest in entertainment was evident from the beginning. Since her early years, Carmen has always been front and center at family and church gatherings--entertainment has always been her driving force. Her exposure to many genres of music and breadth of Latin culture has made her an artist of substance. These diverse music professionals have left an indelible mark on Carmen's musical career. This multicultural richness is very present in her music and presentation. Her present musical efforts a CD entitled "Eternally/Eternamente" is best described as a Latin flavored-Neo-Soul/ R& B style. Her singular sound and range catches everyone's attention when she takes center stage. This multicultural richness is refreshing and her caressing sound undoubtedly will have a very broad eager audience. She is equally comfortable with Latin based musical styles, R&B, Neosoul and pop. Over the past several years, Carmen has been paving her path towards a successful entertainment career. She's been in high profile groups, such as- Fade to Black and Mimosa (managed by Frank Diaz and Luis Martinee, which also managed the 80s superstar group- EXPOSE) Mimosa released a cd single called Shake Your Body at Specs Music/Coconut Grove. Carmen has performed on Univision's top rated shows: Marta Susana, Despierta America, Caliente, Control, Desayuno Alegre and Escandalo TV. She has performed jingles for Univision/Telefutura/Galavision. Carmen has been careful to establish musical relationships that are conducive to her artistic development and has worked with many talented producers. Carmen is also an outstanding athlete and dancer. She has studied many dance styles including: Jazz, hip hop, tap and ballet. This background gives her a commanding and potent stage presence. In addition to being a Fittness Trainer for I.S.S.A, she has a deep interest in health and fitness and certainly has the body and stamina to prove it. She was nominated "Spotlight Trainer of the Month," in Protraineronline.com (May 06), a prestigious online fitness magazine. In a word... She is the total package!
